Tibetan Prayer Flags

As the wind flies through the flags it is believed to pick up the prayers for peace printed on them and carries those prayers away with it across the world.

Buddhism emphasises the impermanence of all things – including prayer flags – and so with the passage of time the flags will began to fade and the edges to fray.

Traditionally Tibetans renew their flags every Losar (Tibetan New Year).

The flags come in sets of 5 (one of each of blue, white, yellow, green and red). They are held together with cotton string and each flag is approximately 24cm square.

Brighten up your gardens with strings of these auspicious flags and send a prayer to the world.

These traditional prayer flags are hand-made at the Vocational Centre of the Tibetan Children’s Village in Dharamsala, India. The Village is home to hundreds of Tibetan refugee children and in buying these flags you help support their education
