Earth Hour 2008 – is TODAY!
The World Wildlife Fund is asking us all to turn off all non-essential electrical appliances for 1 hour today. The demonstration has been organised to put more pressure on governments to take action against climate change.
So far 24 major cities have agreed to participate including Bangkok, London and Tel Aviv. World land marks like Brighton Pier, San Fransisco Bay Bridge and the Sears Tower will all be dark.
So turn off your lights, your TV and (agony!) your computer from 8pm – 9pm GMT and join in this global action.

ZenZuu
Hi
I thought that this might be interesting to some of you.
Its a brand new social networking site which has pledged to give back 80% of its profits to its members.
Now I love social networking sites, so I’d have joined anyway – and left it at that. But as I know some of you are a bit short of cash, and this is a potential earner, I thought I’d give it a bit of publicity.
How does it work? Well social networking sites earn (literally) billions of $s from advertising revenue. The more members they have the more they earn. And for that they need do very little work as all the content is provided by the members.
The traditional sites keep all the revenue for themselves but some, like Zenzuu, reckon they can grow their business faster if they share the revenue with their members.
In order to get your share of this vast income all you have to do is log onto the site 30 times a month. You can do that once a day or cram 30 visits into one hour. If you recruit other people to the site you will get rewarded for their activity too and if they recruit people you’ll get a bit more – all the way down to level 10. Can’t be bad.
Check out Zenzuu for yourself. There’s a video to watch explaining how it all works and a global conference call every day.
All the best

Save the Seals
Having fished the seas almost to extinction Canadian fishermen are eagerly anticipating the mass slaughter of baby seals due to begin next week. This year about 250,000 seal cubs will be bludgeoned to death bringing in about £8m in revenue.
These days life should be ever so slightly better for the baby seals. Legislation passed in 1987 demands that they be able to live for at least two weeks and more recently, and more importantly it is now illegal to skin the pups whilst they’re still alive. But in the rush to ‘process’ the maximum possibly number the rules tend to get ignored.
It is hoped that an EU wide ban on the sale of seal products could bring this yearly massacre to a grinding halt – but not till next year. The ban will prevent the movement of seal pelts through the EU to the major buyers in Russia and China.

Paint on Solar Power!
The idea is to coat every piece of steel cladding with a solar cell paint. As steel is passed through the rollers multiple coatings of of the solar cell system are applied to it. Based on the preliminary research, the materials that are being applied are suited to capturing low level solar radiation, which means that they should work just as well

Photos from the March for Tibet
Here are a few early photos of the March held today (March 22nd 2008) from the Chinese Embassy in London to Trafalgar Square.
Luckily for us all there was a gap in the foul weather and we completed the march without the need for wet weather gear.
The rally in Trafalagar Square was another story!
